Meet Our Self Advocates

This program is for self-advocates aged 20 and over to connect and discuss topics with the guidance of a group leader. Meetings will be conducted through video conference calls six -eight times a year. Read our self advocates column to learn about people living full lives with mDS.


JR S.A.L.T. is a 6-session series focused on advocacy, leadership, friendship building, and strengthening skills in emotional regulation, communication, self-awareness, and interpersonal relationships. We are looking forward to a meaningful and empowering experience for all participants.
This group is designed specifically for teens and young adults ages 15–19 and supports growth in:
Emotional regulation
Communication skills
Self-awareness
Interpersonal relationships
Participation is voluntary. Your child may withdraw at any time. Sessions are conducted in a safe, supportive environment where participants are encouraged to share only what feels comfortable. Meetings will be conducted through video conference calls.
