I wholeheartedly agree with this I remmeber being so scared, not knowing what was going on, and then having to sign paperwork while blood's being drawn, blood pressure is being taken, and being shaved I didn't have time or the ability to read the form, let alone take in what it meant. After I got back down to my room from being in recovery for 4 hours and NOT seeing my baby or knowing if he was ok, I read those forms, and wished I had never signed them easier on the doctors, but not on mama or baby

Before I had my emergency C-Section, I had also seen the pinotteal consequence of not having one when it was needed. I've worked special ed and seen a child w/ cerebral palsy who developed it because he got stuck in the birth canal when his mom was in labor 36 hours and was deprived of oxygen. Maybe I shouldn't have elected to induce (I had a little toxemia) but I wouldn't argue w/ a C-section. And I still got to hold my son pretty soon after. His dad watched over the nurse's shoulders who cleaned him up before handing him over.
